A1. is about getting traffic for FREE/organic from search engines; think more than Google, people use Bing & Yahoo too There are NO stupid questions, we're all on a quest for knowledge and you're in the right place :) It's a great question! I'm still trying to figure out what the "best" keywords are for my site. thanks! I am so new to this! that's a really good point! Me too! Keywords confuse me LOL! Your keywords are what you want to be found for (words, terms, etc), think about what people search for And just when you do, something will change ;) There are really great tools and methods out there to make it easier (& more efficient) I'm sure will share ;) Always! Silly interwebs!! Keep in mind the is an ever changing process, because the Search Engine algorithms are always changing SEO is another one of those things that will never be mastered... If you use WP (self hosted) the plugin Yoast is awesome; provides suggestions/helps u w/everything u need 4good post. Yep not completely, LOL... but we can always keep learning and working hard to keep up especially because they keep changing the rules! Q2 When using SEO, what do you struggle with the most? Thanks! I hate not knowing things lol Yep! Rule changers are almost as icky as rule breakers! LOL A2 knowing what are the right key words for my site In general it's always important to write relevant content, valuable content so that search engines will constantly crawl Q2 When using , what do you struggle with the most? The Google keywords tool is helpful, and free. There are more efficient ones for $$ but free is good Since you're hear tonight & will be attending next week's SEO workshop I'd say you're off to a good start ;) I think once you can get a "rhythm" it becomes more routine, but 1st learning a few things.. This is True! I did learn a TON at too! Uh oh has knowledge on Keyword tools...I know he says there are no FREE ones persay. I think I have an overall grasp of SEO but implementing it is another story. No free effective ones anyways From what I've observed I think most people struggle with understanding how SEO really works overall, this is tough because JUST when you think you have it figured out it changes, lol I'd say step 1 is selecting GOOD keywords & then focusing on how to work them into your content in an organic effective way Pay attention to your analytics and how people are finding you in search engines... write those search terms down. Yep, I know Google does block a lot of the terms but it's still helpful to see where traffic is coming from Ditto. Q3 What tips and tools have you found effective for implementing SEO? A3. Checking your analytics thoroughly is probably one of the most effective free ways to grab terms and keywords. If a term keeps coming up that you've never thought of and it's something you can work in organically, why not do it? ;) Yoast plugin (has a checker, gives you tips on how to improve, what to do/not to do); tracking search words. sometimes I see things come up, I wonder how they even found me that way? Maybe I should be using those? A3 I love the SEOPressor WP plugin I really need to get on top of adding an SEO plug in to my blog... whats the best one? My most successful search term was an "accident" Put a post up to help someone do something on FB.. Still bringing traffic if it comes up a lot and you can work it into your content naturally, go for it! I've heard good things abt Yoast MT Yoast plugin (has a checker, tips on how to improve, what to do/not to do) that's funny! I never have lucky accidents like that! We like Yoast, but All In One SEO is still pretty good too. Yoast gives a good checklist I need to check out SEOPressor WP plugin! Time to do a little research! Well after this chat is over that is!
