Welcome everyone to another Twitter Chat at 6p PST / 9p EST
Greetinga all! Let's get to work!
Tonight, we are talking about those social profiles (similar to our branding convo)
Hi all! I'll be joining tonight!
Glad to see you, Katie. Welcome! RT : Hi all! I'll be joining tonight!
Q1 Do your social profiles have a common look and feel? Please do share!
A1) Yes, so my clients have the same experience across all my materials
A1 They're supposed to :-D
A1 I use the same header image across my profiles.
Yes, but not everyone does!
A1 When I am connecting with someone it is a lot easier to find the right person with their name w/ the same images
totally agree -- that visual consistency becomes their online identity.
I meant MINE are supposed to :-D I need to redo them again
Excellent Ericka! And, hi :) How do you do that? Do you prepare them in ?
Though, you have the logo that is very consistent!
Q1: Besides the basic format, most profiles are very different. Content is a big factor there
A1 I have some that need to be re-done. Like Gail said, my are supposed to be :)
consistency is always nice
Good point, Katie! Would love to hear more on your thoughts on that!
Q2 How do you prepare your messages so they are relevant to the specific social profile?
some people only use their profiles for entertainment, while others (like us) use it to learn!
Via : RT GnosisMedia: : marketing, branding, social media tools. 9pm ET Mod: socialwebcafe
A2 They are pretty similar except for Twitter being shorter
What many don't realize is how many other accounts there are with very similar or exactly the same names
A1 It's almost a skill that has to be developed. Facebook is a lot different from Instagram for example
A1 Twitter and Facebook can be very similar though
A1 Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest can be very very similar as well
Totally agree. There are different ways to use social media with various goals
Good point! That's why graphics help!
people with uncommon names are lucky
graphics and videos always increase views and interest
People with common names can be creative with their name or choose a brand
Q3 Are your messages/statuses the same across all social profiles? Why or why not?
Yes, right now images are a HUGE advantage on Twitter Essential elsewhere, too.
Welcome Erika We all should. Sometimes we just don't make it happen efficiently.
A3 No, because what is the point of having multiple social profiles when they all have the same content?
I try to keep them mixed but also add unique flairs to each profile when I can
A3 Different people follow me on different profiles, I try to cater to that
My favorite example was when used to use DazzlinDonna. Really great for remembering
A3) Yes in order that I don't come across as disagreeing with myself on different social media!
": Tonight, we are talking about those social profiles (similar to our branding convo) "
A3 Some profiles have more personal information than others as well. This separates school, work and personal life in some cases
It would be ok to use variety as long as there was something that was the same
Hi, Deborah! :) ": Join us in 10 min for more chat on social profiles! "
Good point! RT : A3) Yes in order that I don't come across as disagreeing with myself on different social media!
Agreed but the real point is consistency otherwise credibility could be affected.
Hey Lisa! RT : ": Tonight, we are talking about those social profiles "
What confuses people the most is sites that separate personal and business (Facebook, G+, YouTube, LinkedIn)
Q4 Have you integrated all your social media profiles with each other and with apps?
you're right, especially if you're promoting your brand or business
A3 Not now, but I may share more on other platforms the way I do on Twitter now
Similar but different posts?
I love and use it for status update images...I use PhotoShop for prepping my header images.
RT : Similar but different posts? That is what I was thinking...
A4 Not all of them, but some
A4 I haven't in the past, but now that I'm using some of them are (Twitter, FB, LinkedIn)
A4) Yes and I find it helps my brand identity along with my blog.
A4 I have mixed feelings about integrating social across apps. For ex: autosharing instagrams to twitter isn't great
A3. I'm mainly on Facebook daily. I'm occasionally on other social media sites. I put the same profile pic on all.
(A4 c) You get a much better tweet by manually uploading that same image manually to twitter
Q5 What will you be adding to your strategy this week, after this chat?
Great point! Sometimes the medium is not appropriate for the message.

RT (A4 c) You get a much better tweet by manually uploading that same image manually to twitter
Do you like Facebook that much? Do you mostly stay in groups or in your stream?
A5 more consistency...the same profile picture perhaps along with similar content
A5) I'm working on content now so these points will weigh in on that.
I've been trying to figure out why sometimes Twitter cards use full width; other times they reduce same size image
A5 Same as usual: working to find time to use more and add into the mix
Does anyone use ? Q4. I have set up my blog name on my social media sites last month.
A1 Similar theme, different content based on the make up of the network
Great point! I miss simply having fun, it all seems like work now. socia@conpsweeney
More visually appealing than the alternatives. All the free images are great.
